York City's Ollie Pearce is hoping for a quick start in League Two, according to head coach Scott Lindsey. The 31-year-old striker made his Football League debut in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers, playing his part as the Minstermen bagged a first three points in Sky Bet League Two in a decade.

Pearce assisted Harry Boyes' first strike that fired York initially ahead at 2-1. He has had a remarkable career to say he's only just debuting in the Football League, establishing himself as one of the best forward's in the Enterprise National League across the last two seasons.
Why it matters for York
With 65 goals and 21 assists in 96 appearances to date for York, Pearce has won back-to-back Golden Boots when playing in the National League. Even prior to his time with City, he boasts incredible records at a lower level, with 68 goals in 93 appearances for Worthing and eight goals in 28 outings for Bognor Regis Town.
What comes next?
Despite Pearce's goalscoring record, he's been made seventh favourite to win the League Two Golden Boot by the bookies. Lindsey certainly fancies those odds, believing Pearce will take the step up to the Football League with ease as City look to build on an opening day win against Rotherham United next Saturday (3pm).
