Harry Boyes’ Impressive Debut for York City
York City's first match of the Sky Bet League Two season saw a debut that 'don’t get much better than that,' according to Harry Boyes. The 24-year-old, who joined York from Southend United in the summer, scored a brace and the winner in a 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers at the LNER Community Stadium.
Boyes, who had not played in pre-season or the Carabao Cup for York, was given the nod over Ben Brookes in the starting lineup. His performance did not disappoint, with his first goal coming just three minutes after Alex Newby had cancelled out Clinton Mola's opener for Bristol Rovers.
